1911
The first census recording the houses was taken in 1911, so these were probably the first tenants of the house.
- Ralph Dixon, head, 26, school attendance officer, born Brighton.
- May Dixon, wife, 31, ---, born Leamington.
- Ralph Roy Dixon, son, 8 months, ---, born Kings Norton.
May Dixon (born May Welch Roberts) was the older sister of Percy William Roberts, who was secretary of Bournville Tenants in the 1930s. Percy Roberts lived at several addresses on Kingsley Road (54 Kingsley Road, 45 Kingsley Road, and 51 Kinglsey Road), and May's mother and other brothers lived at 26 Kingsley Road. May Roberts had worked as a milliner (hat maker) before she was married.
The Dixon family remained at 31 Kingsley Road until about 1935, when they moved to 41 Claines Road nearby, then brand new housing.
