In the late 1950s and early 1960s, many of the houses had bathroom and kitchen conversions to bring the houses into line with modern requirements. Some residents remember the changes; the fold-down baths that were replaced with the permanent baths, the old range cookers were taken out, as were the open fires. The plans for these conversions are at Birmingham Archive (reference MS 1536/Box 39), some examples are below.
